Projects

This unit is responsible for schools’ environmental awareness and trees-planting. Through the partnership with the South African Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries as well as the South African Post Office, we have planted 564 indigenous trees in schools and communities in Gauteng, Limpopo and North West.

Projekt 23 is in charge of the evaluation and monitoring of the project after the project has been implemented. The schools will be responsible for the maintenance of the indigenous trees. An Eco CLUB will be established at each school. This team will document the tree planting process and return results to the project location, number of trees planted (and when) and survival rate of trees can be tracked. Besides engaging schools in various environmental awareness sustainability programs such as tree-planting initiatives, in the long term, Projekt 23 envisages organizing bio-diversity excursions for schools.
